Ozark Netflix Review

I just finished the third season of Ozark so now feels like a good time to review the show. We have been reviewing shows on Netflix because of corona. Season 4 is expected to come out in April of 2021 so if you haven’t seen the show yet, you have 3 seasons to binge. Especially while everyone is on quarantine. Let’s get right down to business. Again, I try to write these so I don’t give any spoilers away. The best part of the show is the story line. It’s a very well written show where the plot always keeps you locked in. If you appreciate well written stories, Ozark is for you. That’s by far the shows best quality.

The worst quality is the characters. It’s hard to fall in love with any of the characters. There are times you may try to feel sympathy or understand what they’re doing. At the end of the day, the characters are hard to embrace.

Continuing with the theme, I’m not a Jason Bateman fan. I just find him incredibly annoying. That’s why it took me so long to give the show a chance. Just his whole vibe bugs me. He does this thing where he feels bad for himself after making choices he created and pretends to be tough while doing 180 mood swings. It gets old. If you like Bateman then you will really like the show. I’m just not a fan of most or all of the actors and actresses. With the exception of Julia Garner. The way she portrays Ruth is incredible.

If you don’t know the basic premise of the show, it’s basically a middle class family that gets roped in by a Mexican drug cartel to launder money. If you’re into that sort of thing, it’s worth a watch. I like action and drama filled shows like that so it’s something I can get into. Is it my favorite show in the world? No, but it’s good enough to watch and filled with enough drama to keep your attention.
