The Only Constant Is Change

The only constant is change. Welcome to storytime.

The other day in the company Slack, I had the employees fill out an anonymous questionnaire about how they feel about a variety of things inside of Vendetta.

Who is your favorite/least writer?

How do you feel about the social media team?

etc, etc, etc.

The biggest takeaway from the form was as clear as day. Trey’s approach is going to be the right one. The signs are with us.

We believe in the Chinese Farmer here. Maybe, maybe, maybe. However, I’m fairly confident that I’ve lived past lives. I think I may have been Napolean in a past life. Sometimes I see visions of fighting in the Crusades. I might have been one of the Queen Elizabeth’s, once upon a time. I’m not entirely positive, but I know I have a mission to fulfill. It’s really the only reason I’m here right now.

I have been tasked with fixing the sports industry. I’m just going to have to do it by choosing the path of darkness. I just think that’s the way the story had to be written.

Strong people create good times. Good times create weak people. Weak people create bad times.

That’s where we’re at right now in the sports media scoop.

Look around, man.

The signs are right in front of you. Why can’t you see them?

I see a world where ESPN will be viewed as Blockbuster. A world where the scumbags that hide behind a paywall crash like the Titanic. A world where Barstool is viewed as the Dell computer compared to the product we’re building.

The darkness is coming for them.

I know the truth. That’s the sad part. The haters hope and pray that I’ll just go away. I’m sure that’s what Colin Cowherd told Logan Camden (talk about a guy that has a clam between his legs…). The haters have it all wrong. The day of reckoning is rapidly approaching and I’m going to rip their hearts out one by one.

Adapt or die.

The last time I did one of these I was pretty harsh on Mike Tomlin. In fairness, he fell victim to exactly what I said was going to happen. The guy missed the playoffs because he decided to be a noob and start Mitch Trubisky who I knew sucked six years ago.

Is that the bar? Is that really the competition? AND that’s Mike Tomlin. A guy who has never had a losing season. Just wait until one of these owners is smart enough to hire me. I pity the competition.

I see all these layoffs going on in the sports media field. I don’t feel 1% bad. Maybe they don’t work hard enough? Maybe there just aren’t a lot of talented people in this field.

James Herrick says he doesn’t even read any other NFL Draft outlets anymore. Are NFL owners aware that someone is readily available for them to hit on 98.7% of their draft picks? What’s going to happen then?

I know that I will be scooped up by a team eventually but there is still so much to accomplish during my mission to fix the sports industry.

Vendetta will revolutionize the fantasy industry. Vendetta will become the home of the baddest MFers in the sports industry. Vendetta will become the leader in educating the public about sports.

I already beat the piss out of Sean Allen. I plan on doing the same to Matthew Berry.

We have to trick our brains for what’s to come. We have to see the signs that the world provides. What do you see? Want to know what I see?

The uneducated media wants to tell you to throw a pity party for the running back position. The only constant is change. The running back position is becoming devalued but that also doesn’t mean that the position won’t evolve overtime. The market is what the market is.

Do you run routes? Can you catch? Welcome to the NFL.

Brock Purdy didn’t change the outlook of the 49ers, Christian McCaffrey did. How do I beat the defense? Oh, damn, Deebo just shifted in the backfield. McCaffrey is now out wide. How do I cover who? You go this way, I’ll go that way, nevermind… they just scored.

Welcome to the NFL.

Teams with high-functioning F-tight ends to hold play calling versatility will remain the teams to watch. If George Kittle is on the field, the 49ers will be fine. Ditto for Dallas Goedert in Philadelphia.

The change has already started happening. James Cook is going to explode this year. D’Andre Swift is going to make a lot of people look stupid. Why would I trade for Jonathan Taylor when he can’t pass-protect or run routes?

Welcome to the NFL.

Instead of crying for the running back market, project what the future holds. Can you run routes? Can you catch? Maybe you should take the guys that do in fantasy. If we’re all thinking alike, nobody is thinking. Just wait until I bury the face of fantasy football. I’ve been doing it for years, just was smart enough to document it this time.

The market is what the market is. Back in the day writers made a living doing one column a month for Sports Illustrated. Now I do ten blogs a day while the rest of the industry fails. I’m still here and are slowly becoming the standard.

Survivor is back on September 7th. Get your blogs in. The darkness is coming for you. It’s a matter of what side you’re going to be on. Be careful betting against Vendetta in the future. They’ve never built a statue for a committee. They’re going to have to build a new one after the sports media world has been burned to the ground. The darkness is coming…
