Anyone with two eyes could have seen this coming from a mile away. Brent Venables drove Jackson Arnold away with his embarrassing placement of blame for how their season went, which shows he never knew what to do with Arnold in the first place. After what can only be described as a disappointing 2024 campaign for Arnold, he has announced he will be entering the transfer portal to find a new home in 2025, and I don’t blame him.
Jackson Arnold, a former five-star recruit and Gatorade National Player of the Year award winner, will be among the top transfer prospects in this cycle, regardless of position. Arnold was the no. 4 overall QB prospect (no. 1 in the state of Texas) in his class, and never really felt like he was given a fair shake at Oklahoma. You can expect to see a large number of prolific programs coming to get Arnold. I expect teams like Alabama, USC, Florida State, Texas A&M, and many more to come calling. He is coming off the heels of a massive upset over then no. 7 ranked Alabama at home, which should greatly enhance his transfer stock.
Jackson Arnold deserves better. He got stuck with that dope Brent Venables, and can now leave for greener pastures to a program and a coach who actually knows how to play him. I think Arnold should use both his remaining years left to develop his skills and rebuild his draft stock that has taken a major hit while at Oklahoma. Let’s not forget this is an Elite 11 MVP we are talking about, which if you’ve been following the site you know that holds quite a bit of stock.
