Odell Beckham Will Face Growing Expectations In Los Angeles

Odell Beckham is now a needed face for the Los Angeles Rams. When the news first broke, many NFL fans were convinced that this was merely Sean McVay and Les Snead stacking the deck so that the SoFi Stadium would have a “home” team for the Super Bowl. However, that is no longer the case. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported earlier today that Rams veteran receiver Robert Woods went down with a season-ending ACL injury.

If OBJ can play how many expect him to, then LA will still boast one of the better receiving corps in the NFL. Cooper Kupp could very well be in the midst of an All-Pro season as one of the league’s leading receivers. Van Jefferson is an emerging young gun who provides much-needed depth in the wake of Woods’ ACL tear. Matthew Stafford has been unleashed from Detroit and can have an argument made for being an MVP candidate. With both a better quarterback and extra help across from him, Odell doesn’t have to be a one-man show like he was with the Giants. He does, however, need to show that he didn’t take a step back from being in Cleveland.

LA Is Making It Abundantly Clear

Once again, the Rams find a way to add another star to their roster. Everyone was convinced their pursuit reached a fever pitch with Von Miller’s trade to Hollywood before the deadline. However, they did it once again. Both Miller and Beckham are close friends off the field, with the former Super Bowl MVP making a plea on Instagram for the recently released Beckham to join forces in LA. It seems like the message from Miller, along with McVay and others, has surely worked. Regardless, the Rams will be asking for Beckham’s best. The loss of Woods makes his addition even more imperative in their chase for a Super Bowl. Being a #2 receiver behind Kupp should hopefully make OBJ’s job a little easier as he acclimates to life in Los Angeles.

Donald, Ramsey, Miller, Stafford, Kupp, and now OBJ. Expectations are through the roof in LA, and many are hoping the addition of Odell can put the Rams over the top.
