Nick Wright Has His Best Take Ever: Tom Brady Is The Worst Quarterback In The NFC South

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in for a rude awakening in 2020. They signed up for a 43-year-old Tom Brady who was one of the worst quarterbacks in football a year ago. He’s not getting better with another year older. Brady showed alarming signs of decline last year ranking near the bottom of every statistical category in 2019. Nick Wright isn’t my usual cup of tea but he is the only media person I’ve seen (other than myself) that has come out and said the truth.

Nick Wright put it bluntly. Tom Brady is the worst quarterback in the NFC South and he’s 100 percent right:

“The idea that Tampa is a championship-contending team now, I think is lunacy,” Wright said. ” … If I could only walk through one of two doors — Door 1 is the Bucs are competing for championship, much less championships, or Door 2 is by Thanksgiving the Bucs are saying, ‘Oh my god, we’re tied to this guy for next year as well?’ Door 2 is far more likely, and I’ll take it a step further. Is it more likely Tom Brady is the best quarterback in that division, or the worst quarterback in that division? Drew Brees is better than him right now. Matt Ryan is better than him right now. And Teddy Bridgewater … I’d rather have Teddy Bridgewater next year than 43-year-old Tom Brady.”

Amen right there. The idea the Bucs are a legit contender is laughable. I don’t love most of what Nick Wright has to say. This is 100 percent accurate. The Bucs have the worst quarterback in the division. Are we just going to ignore that Brady is now playing in the NFC South instead of the AFC East? Those easy wins don’t exist in the NFC. Tampa made an enormous mistake signing Tom Brady.
