The NFL Week 6 betting lines are set, and it’s time to dig in. Last week was odd for Andrew and me because of the entire COVID situation with the Titans. They ended up playing their game against the Bills on Tuesday, but it was not included in the bets. Hopefully, everything is under control for this week. I’ve missed football, and I want as much of it as I can get.
Jackson: 46-30
Andrew: 33-27
New York Jets @ Miami
MIA -9.5
It may be scary to take this Miami team as nearly a two-score favorite, and it may very well be a safe bet against this Jets team. Miami made the 49ers bench Jimmy G and are making steps in the right direction in their rebuild.
Houston @ Tennessee
TEN -3.5
Tennessee has been shocking so far this year. Their defense is playing well and is coming off throttling the Bills. Houston is still trying to figure things out, so the edge goes to the Titans.
Cincinnati @ Indianapolis
CIN +7.5
Rivers is done as a QB in this league. He may not get benched this week, but it very well may happen soon. Burrow got blitzed last week against the Ravens, but he has a bounce-back game against the Colts. Bengals cover, maybe even win.
Atlanta @ Minnesota
MIN -4.5
Both teams are terrible, but the Vikings have looked the better of the two. The Vikings found success against the league’s worst defense; the Seahawks and the Falcons aren’t far behind.
Denver @ New England
NE -9
With Cam Newton coming back, this should be an easy one for New England. We’ve seen how terrible quarterback play has held back the team the past few weeks. Roll with Cam and Bill.
Washington @ New York Giants
WAS +2.5
The Giants are favored in a game?? Can’t believe it. Take Washington.
Baltimore @ Philadelphia
BAL -7.5
I honestly can’t believe the Ravens aren’t favored by more. Please take it. Their defense is too good and will have Wentz running for his life.
Cleveland @ Pittsburgh
PIT -3
Cleveland was going to crash and burn at some point. That time has come against the Steelers. Big Ben has looked outstanding this year and is coming off some extra rest. Are the Steelers legit this year?
Chicago @ Carolina
CAR -1.5
This could be a big game for the Panthers. Even though it’s a one-game difference, 4-2 means a lot more than 3-3. They’ll come out ready and put the Bears in their rightful place—the L column.
Detroit @ Jacksonville
JAX +3.5
This is another one of those games where both teams are so bad it’s hard to choose a clear winner. I’ll roll with Minshew and Jacksonville in this one.
Green Bay @ Tampa Bay
GB -1
This is disrespectful to how Rodgers and the Packers are playing this year. Rodgers, along with Russell Wilson, are the two frontrunners for the MVP. Take the Packers; it’s an easy bet.
Los Angeles Rams @ San Francisco
LAR -3
Until the 49ers can figure out what is going on with Jimmy G, and due to the number of injuries on their defense, I cannot confidently bet with the 49ers from here on out. For that reason only, I’ll be going with the Rams.
Kansas City @ Buffalo
KC -4
Both teams are coming off tough losses. The Chiefs are an all-around better team, and therefore should be able to bounce back better than the Bills.
Arizona @ Dallas
ARI -1.5
With the injury to Dak, the Cardinals have a clear edge heading into this game. Dalton was once a starter, and has weapons around him to succeed in Dallas, but the Cardinals get this one.
New York Jets @ Miami
MIA -9.5
New York is terrible. No, Sam Darnold, they cut Lev Bell(!!!!), and Adam Gase still is the head coach. Take whatever team they play every week until Gase is gone.
Houston @ Tennessee
TEN -3.5
The Titans are perfect so far, and boy, did they destroy the Bills last week (big flop on my part). Texans are not going to be the team that stops the Tennessee train. Gimme the spread and more.
Cincinnati @ Indianapolis
IND -7.5
Trey thinks Phillip Rivers is done for. I don’t think so. Plus, that Indy defense against a rookie QB? Yes, please. -7.5 point spread won’t be enough.
Atlanta @ Minnesota
MIN -4.5
I keep saying the Vikings are underrated, given their record. Going up against a team that just fired their coach, look for Minnesota to win and enjoy a breakout game.
Denver @ New England
NE money line
New England gets back a healthy Cam Newton, which they desperately needed, and they go against a Broncos team with no reliable QB and a RB recently arrested for a DUI. Troubles brewing in Denver, but a -9.5 spread makes me feel uncomfortable. Go with the patriots on the money line.
Washington @ New York Giants
WAS +2.5 or money line
As if 2020 wasn’t bad enough, we get another NFC East showdown two weeks in a row. Somehow the winless Giants come in with the advantage. Take Washington at +2.5 or with the money line.
Baltimore @ Philadelphia
BAL -7.5
Lamar Jackson and the 4-1 Ravens versus a banged-up Eagles team with no offensive line? Check, please. Ravens will easily take the -7.5 spread.
Cleveland @ Pittsburgh
PIT -3
I’m genuinely surprised at the play of both teams. Cleveland at 4-1 is throwing me for a loop because we’re not used to them being good. And the Steelers have quietly gone undefeated through their first four. This will be a great game, one that will go down to the wire, possibly a last-second field goal—Pittsburgh with -3 spread.
Chicago @ Carolina
CAR -1.5
Teddy Bridgewater, Robby Anderson, and Mike Davis take the cake over Nick Foles and the Bears. I won’t accept anything less.
Detroit @ Jacksonville
JAX +3.5
Another stinker. James Robinson (FCS player shoutout) has not had a big game in a few weeks; for fantasy purposes, many owners hope this is the week he returns to life. If he does, and Minshew can keep it together, Jacksonville should win this one.
Green Bay @ Tampa Bay
GB -1
Packers-Bucs will be a good game for numerous reasons, but mostly Aaron Rodgers vs. Tom Brady. Betters are disrespecting Rodgers at only -1. I’ll take that bet any day of the week.
Los Angeles Rams @ San Francisco
LAR -3
Jimmy G looked awful against Miami last week; meanwhile, the Rams are playing well. Troy Reeder (FCS player shoutout) and Aaron Donald, what a duo. They’ll feast on the 49ers—LA with the spread.
Kansas City @ Buffalo
KC -4
Everyone whiffed on the Chiefs game last week, even Vendetta’s very own Raiders fan, Alex Chick. No way he saw it coming. But the Chiefs will look to carve up the Bills in a revenge game. If Buffalo’s secondary is healthy, this will be one of, if not the game of the week. Otherwise, it’ll be early thanksgiving for Kansas City, and the Bills are the turkey. Carving fest.
Arizona @ Dallas
ARI -1.5
Kyler Murray’s play has been down the last few weeks, but this is the game to figure it out. It’ll be interesting to see how Dallas plays in its first game without Dak, but I don’t think they can win this one. Cardinals with the spread.
