New York Knicks: “Not Happy Where We Are Right Now”

Oh, the Knicks. They might be the dumbest team in basketball now that the Phoenix Suns seems to have their shit together. Change requires time and with each change the Knicks make, the less time they allow for the change. The Knicks are obviously not happy. I mean they just said so, but the fact of the matter is, the Knicks almost refuse to go through a proper rebuild. New York Knicks President Steve Mills and General Manager Scott Perry full quote via Ian Bagley of SNY:

“Obviously, Scott and I are not happy with where we are right now. We think the team’s not performing to the level that we anticipated or we expected to perform at and that’s something that we think we have to collectively do a better job of delivering the product on the floor that we said we would do at the start of this season.
“We still believe in our coaching staff, we believe in the plan that Scott and I put together and the players that we’ve assembled. But we also have to acknowledge that we haven’t played at the level we expected to play at. We’ve sort of seen glimpses of how we can play as a team, when everything comes together. But we’ve got to find a way to play complete games at the level that we expect our team to play at and that’s a responsibility that we take collectively. But I also think it’s important for us to communicate to our fans that we’re not happy where we are right now and we’re committed to making this better.”

I don’t know how they love the team that they put together. Hell, they have like 10 PFs on the damn team. The Knicks need to do a proper rebuild, not some fast ass shit they do every year and wonder why they continue to be bad. The 76ers did that, now they have Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid and should be looking to contend for an NBA title this year. The Knicks are not attracting Free Agents because of their horrendous management. If you want something done right, you have to do it right. The Knicks have been irrelevant for years just because of this. They drafted Kristaps Porzingis, a pick that a lot of people hated. Turns out it was an amazing pick and they traded him away for well under his worth. The Knicks are a joke, there’s no other way around it. It starts at the top with James Dolan, but at every level of the Knicks’ organization is just pure incompetence. No shit they’re unhappy right now, they never gave themselves a chance in the first place.
