NLE Choppa is horny this New Music Friday, or, at least, that’s the interpretation from Cottonwood 2. Plenty of the tracks on this album have the same vibe as his hit single “Slut Me Out”. However, NLE taps into many different styles of rap including Jersey beats, New York and UK drill, along with influences from RnB.
In short, this album is very versatile. Songs to check out are “ROUND & ROUND”, “DISABILITY CHECKS” featuring Polo G and G Herbo, and “COLD GAME” featuring Rick Ross.
Nicki Minaj hops on a Princess Diana Remix with the rising star Ice Spice for a banger of a song this New Music Friday. They both performed spectacularly with the Queen of Rap spitting for a minute straight on the second half of the song.
This collaboration came with news that Minaj has started her own record label “Heavy On It” since her label is the one that released the song. Therefore, there is now speculation that Ice Spice is leaving 10K Projects to be signed under Heavy On It. Nothing has been made official at the moment, but there should be excitement for future collaboration between the two in the future.
Metallica is still releasing new music and this album is just like their old music. Long, but enjoyable instrument solos and everlasting vocal performances. Enjoyable from start to finish.
“No Love For A Thug” is an extremely mellow and sad song. It sounds very personal for Kodak Black with lyrics pertaining to a past lover. I don’t know how I feel about this song off of the first few listens; it’s not necessarily good or bad, however, I know if you want to be depressed this Friday listen to this song.
I am not a huge fan of the drill music scene and that is all Fivio Foreign releases so my opinion on this song is biased. This song is mid. His music overall is mid. I haven’t heard a single Fivio song that elicits a reaction and that doesn’t change with this new release this Friday.
Pi’erre Bourne brought a very easily digestible project this New Music Friday. Grails is simple in the lyrical department, however, that is to be expected from someone most notable of their production abilities.
Saying that, the production definitely shined in this project with its futuristic synth sound and bass across the EP. Songs to check out are “George Lopez,” “Honeyberry 2,” and “Lessons”.
Short and sweet. Jeleel released a minute and seven second song that got straight to the point. If you are a fan of rage music, check out this release.
Dro Kenji brings a very catchy and delightful song this Friday. It feels like a faster Juice WRLD with the style and influence.
