NBA Free Agency Draft: Keep Your Eyes Peeled for These Guys

With the 2023 NBA Finals consigned to the history books, we’re now in the thick of the off-season. It should be a time of calm for all involved. Players are sitting on a beach somewhere enjoying a well-earned break, re-charging their batteries before leaping head first into the next term. Officials do something similar, researching rule changes and keeping ahead of the schedule.

That leaves coaches, board members, and fans to navigate the next few weeks without distraction. With no games on the horizon and no training required June and July is when bosses do some of their best work on their squad. They target the most promising names in the draft, creating a wish list and working through it to get their side in the best shape before a return to action. There’s no time to rest.

The leading sportsbooks offering the best NBA online betting allow registered members to make predictions and wager on the various trades. Predict which team a player will join and where a free agent might turn to help get his career back on track.

A clean slate

With the slate wiped clean and optimism in the air, summer is a time of promise for everyone passionate about the NBA. But who are the players attracting the most interest this month, and what moves are on the horizon? Good decisions and deals done now will impact how a team performs in the coming season. So coaches and managers must get it right as it could be their job on the line in 12 months.

Some names available in the free trade are worth watching this season. Their success depends on which team they sign for this month, but these players have the skills and attitude to impress.

Save this article to your favorites and check back throughout the season to see if placing our trust in these names was justified.

Kyrie Irving

We’ll start with Kyrie Irving, an unrestricted free agent, making it easier for a coach to take a chance on him by offering a contract. Any team bringing Irving in out of the cold must work on helping him improve, but he has the talent and desire to become a household name among NBA lovers. Next season is the perfect time to start.

Anyone wanting his signature of Kyrie knows they must move fast, as reports suggest he’ll be reunited with the Dallas Mavericks. The club seems keen on returning him, but Irving is holding out for a max contract. Will Dallas deliver what the player needs?

In his previous 20 appearances for the Mavericks, Irving averaged 27 points, five rebounds, six assists, and 51/39/95 splits. If he can be consistent, we’re sure he’ll flourish in the right environment this season.

Fred Van Vleet

Another player hoping for a seat at NBA’s head table next season is Fred Van Vleet. Like Irving, Van Vleet is another unrestricted free agent, which helps widen his options. He won’t be short of offers, that’s for sure, with many respected coaches viewing Fred as the pick of the bunch of unrestricted players.

It has been widely reported that the Houston Rockets will table an attractive offer for Fred, which may have already happened. The backroom and financial staff in Houston likely have already made their intentions clear to the player and will make an offer in the coming days.

It should be sooner rather than later, as the Rockets know they aren’t the only team after his services. Houston’s rivals, the Raptors, are also believed to be sniffing around Fred, and that’s no surprise following an eye-catching season with encouraging numbers. Keep up to speed on this tug-of-war, as things will get exciting.

Notable mentions

Kyrie Irving and Fred Van Vleet are the two players we’re most excited about this week, and fantasy NBA managers will also push to have these players on their teams for the season to come. But there are a few others worth following.

James Harden won’t be short on options, and a big-money deal is in the pipeline. Draymond Green is unrestricted and will attract attention, while Khris Middleton’s next club remains undecided.
