Myles Jack Retires From The NFL

The Eagles are still questionable at linebacker so they signed veterans Zach Cunningham and Myles Jack hoping one would still. Well, it’s going to have to be Cunningham because Jack just retired. The former Jaguars and Steelers linebacker is calling it quits.

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com was the first to report the news:

Jack, 27, finishes his career with 617 tackles, three interceptions, and 6.5 sacks. There are so many what-if scenarios with Jack that we could be here all day discussing his career. His college coach Jim Mora thought he was going to win Rookie of the Year. Jack was such a fun player to watch at UCLA. Someone stared at running back and linebacker. Had and up and down career in Jacksonville but only could have imagined what player he would have become if it weren’t for injuries.

Just my two cents on it. This shouldn’t really be viewed as surprising. I watched Philadelphia’s preseason game against the Browns. Zach Cunningham is the veteran signing that looked like he still had juice left. He made a strong impression during the game. Myles had serious talent but you can tell he’s been zapped by injuries. Just doesn’t have it anymore. Father time is undefeated. The positive is that Jack seems like he has a plan post-retirement. It’s an interesting story so I encourage you to click the link!

Shout out to Myles Jack. I loved watching him play at UCLA. Hell of a football career in general.
