Mohamed Kamara is a sneaky pass rusher in the 2024 NFL Draft class. Will the Colorado State product become a force at the NFL level? Let’s chat about it. Here is your 2024 NFL Draft Profile on Mohamed Kamara.
Kamara is probably my favorite late round pass rusher to target in the class. I’m not going to sit here and pretend that I watched extensive Colorado State footage. A lot of this stuff is American Idol. Every time I watched Kamara, he found a way to wreck the game. He was unreal in the game against Colorado and was probably the best player on the field at the East-West Game.
He spent his entire five year college career with the Rams. Got on the field right away but really started to breakout after the pandemic year. His sack total has increased every single year. Went from 7.5 in 2021 to 8.5 in 2022 and 13 in 2023. Kamara, CSU’s team captain, was named Mountain West Conference Defensive Player of the Year and First-team All-MWC this past year.
I’m in based on what I saw at the Combine. A 4.57 time at the 40 with a 10 time of 1.58 is really good. Only thing I’d say about his Combine is that you probably don’t want him dropping into coverage. Has some limitations with the feet. Just go let this guy hunt and you won’t be disappointed. The former three star recruit from the New Jersey area also ripped out 23 reps on the bench.
Kamara checks in at 6-foot-1, 248, with over 32 inch arms. Power is the name of the game with him. The guy has violent hands and is a bull in a china shop. Has a good motor on him too. If he can add a few more pitches to his arsenal, he’s going to wind up being a really good player.
His brother Amara played at Temple so he does have some football bloodlines too.
I have a third round grade on Kamara. A try hard guy who wins with power but has sack production that speaks for itself. Should develop into a starting caliber player over time. His stock seems to be much lower than that. I have no problem pulling the trigger here.
