Today we’re talking about the hero of the Rose Bowl, Mitchell Tinsley. One of the heroes anyway (the stock report post mostly focuses on Lambert-Smith who is returning to Penn State). Tinsley had 49 yards and a score in that one to cap off an epic rise to prominence. Let’s review the 2023 NFL Draft profile for Mitchell Tinsley!
The thing I worry about with Tinsley is the fact that he ran a 4.60. I didn’t think he had the juice that teammate Parker Washington does, but this just wasn’t it. At 6-foot, 199, that’s just not good enough. You’re not getting a route running savant like a Hunter Renfrow either.
Tinsley does a really good job picking up chunk yardage in the middle of the field. He tracks the ball really well. It’s probably best to view Tinsley as a guy that worked his way up the latter at Penn State. Tinsley went from Community college, to Western Kentucky, to Penn State. This past year Tinsley had 51 receptions for 577 yards and five scores. Tinsley was a starting caliber player that somehow looked like KJ Hamler with way less speed and wiggle. However, he does have some possible slot receiver potential.
At the end of the day, I have Mitchell Tinsley as an undrafted player. He’s at the bottom of my wide receiver list but someone who isn’t untalented. Just missing the juice you would hope for to really use a pick on. I wouldn’t be surprised if Tinsley does make it in some capacity.
