Milano Market: The Perfect Place When Craving A Fresh Italian Sandwich
Milano Market is one of New York City’s new trending joints for a delicious and fresh Italian sandwich! Blowing up on TikTok, Instagram and other social media platforms, many New Yorkers are heading to 89th Street to see if these sandwiches really live up to their hype!
It’s conveniently located right by the 6-train, Q train and many buses. It’s definitely worth the commute! Walking in, you’re greeted by the smell of fresh meats, vegetables, soups and more. There’s a large selection of authentic deli meats all throughout the store, showcasing the legitimacy of the joint. Many employees work hard behind the counter to assemble the sandwich right in front of your face. They use crisp and fresh ingredients and also slice the meat to each order. It’s everything you could ask for in an Italian sandwich!
There are tons of options to mix and match to create the perfect sandwich catered to your tastebuds. From hot sandwiches, cold-cut sandwiches, wraps or anything else, Milano Market has it all. Whatever you’re craving, there are popular orders that will always remain iconic. There’s the Milano Special, Milano Supremo, All American, Smoked Prosciutto, Bresaola, Parma and Emilia, among others.
Alongside their delicious specials, they also offer soups and sides that are equally as fresh and delicious! The soup options range from beef barley, chicken orzo, and corn chowder. Their tasty sides are on display right as you order. They offer fresh tuna salad, egg salad, shrimp salad, chicken salad, potato salad, and broccolini.
The Milano Special:
My favorite was, of course, the Milano Special. This wonderful item included ham, salami, mortadella, provolone, lettuce, tomato, roasted peppers, and oil and vinegar. All of this is sandwiched between semolina hero bread.
These ingredients make for the perfect classic Italian sandwich; the taste itself was fresh and tangy; the sharpness from the provolone perfectly complemented the meatiness from the salami and mortadella; the lettuce and tomato added a nice crunch and the oil and vinegar topped it off with a zap of tang.
Head to Milano Market on the Upper East Side next time you’re craving a fresh and crisp Italian sandwich!
