I never want Mike Williams on my fantasy team. Well, that is if I’m in a league and I have to decide when to start him. At some point shouldn’t we just acknowledge that consistency matters. It does not matter if you are pro or anti-Williams. I just believe it should be time to recognize that Williams has WAY more value in best ball leagues.
It was the same old story for Williams to start the 2022 NFL Season. Lays a stinker in Week 1 (two receptions for ten yards) comes back the next week and dominates (eight catches for 113 yards and a score). So how the hell do you ever know when to start him? You don’t and that’s the whole point.
In fact, Williams’ entire career looks like this. In 2021, Williams had five games with fewer than four fantasy points in non-PPR settings. He had seven other games where he at least scored a touchdown. In those boom games, four of them went over 100 yards.
The year before it was even worse. Five games with less than 30 total yards. Then add in four boom games with at least a touchdown. Three of which topped 90 yards too.
I just don’t want any part of this rollercoaster unless I don’t have to make the decision. If I’m in best ball, this dude is perfect because the range of outcomes can only help you if the team you built is well put together. In normal fantasy, I’d rather stick a fork in my eyes. It’s constant fire playing and it won’t be something you win every week regardless of how good you are at lineups.
