Mike Tannenbaum creates the worst 2023 NFL mock draft

Ladies and gentlemen, he has done it once again and this time it might be the worst take he’s ever had. Mike Tannenbaum has just released his mock draft for this year’s upcoming NFL draft and it is awful.

To start this cluster off, I have to give credit where credit is due. Tannenbaum has Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, and Will Anderson going to the first three picks. Golf claps to Mr. Tannenbaum for not screwing those up. I mean, a newborn child could’ve figured those three picks out without criticism. But before you read on, I suggest you might want to close your eyes because this mock draft is ugly.

Now we get into the juicy picks. Tannenbaum decided to take Will Levis fourth overall. Seriously, I mean, are you kidding me? You pick Will Levis fourth overall. He has all the arm talent in the world, but other than that, what does Levis bring to the NFL? He struggled at Kentucky with his decision making and scouts will pick you apart for that.

Levis will be the next Zach Wilson. We saw last year during Wilson’s pro day that he could throw the ball to the moon, similar to Levis, but his decision-making is sorry. Levis also couldn’t even beat out Sean Clifford at Penn State. If he can’t beat out Clifford for the starting job, how will he be a starting NFL QB? The answer: he won’t be. Levis also had a 19:10 TD-to-interception ratio last season and you pick him fourth overall. You’re crazy Mike Tannenbaum.

Right after Tannenbaum decided to send Levis fourth overall to the Colts, he predicts Hendon Hooker fifth overall. Hooker just came off a great season for the Volunteers with 32 total touchdowns and two interceptions. Sounds good, right? In a perfect world, Hooker would be a first-round selection, but Hooker tore his ACL last season against South Carolina. It will be an immaculate comeback for Hooker if he can come back from a torn ACL and still be the same player as before. I didn’t even mention this, he is already 25 years old. It just doesn’t make sense Tannenbaum, it really doesn’t.

Finally, this pick is just flat-out confusing, and it should be to anyone. Tannenbaum has Zay Flowers as his third receiver taken off the board. The funny part about this pick to me is that he has him over guys like Jalin Hyatt and Jordan Addison when they’re still on the board. Don’t get me wrong, Flowers is a good receiver, and he played well at Boston College, but over Addison and Hyatt. You’re smoking something different you think Flowers is better than both of those guys. I can see why the Jets fired Tannenbaum because he flat-out can’t draft if his life depended on it. It’s crazy to think that he has this job as a so-called “expert”.
