Michael Malone Forced To Lie About Westbrook’s Defense

Anybody who watches basketball knows Russell Westbrook isn’t a positive on the defensive end of the floor. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out. Westbrook is really good at being a selfish prick and forcing up terrible shots. Have to give that to him. Defense… not so much. Except Nuggets head coach Michael Malone wants you to know that Westbrick plays great defense.

“When people talk about Russell Westbrook, no one really mentions defense … End of games, he was on the opposing team’s best player every night,” Malone told reporters Thursday during the Nuggets’ media day, per ClutchPoints.

Malone added: “So you have a guy that you can close games with in Russell Westbrook, who knows the league, knows personnel. Has the respect of the officials and has a competitive, ‘I’m gonna get in your shit’ mindset that I love.”

Drinking the Westbrook Kool-Aid will always lead you down a dark path. Just go ask the Lakers who ripped up their championship team for that loser. Go ask the Rockets how big of a downgrade he was over CP3. Go ask the Clippers how that experiment went. Ditto for the Wizards.

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the fact that Malone currently has some friction with the front office over recent roster moves. I wonder what this report could possibly be referring to…

I can’t wait to watch this puppy crash and burn. It happens with every team this clown is on. The smart people know Kevin Durant bailed on that idiot for a reason.
