It’s officially official. The Mets didn’t call me and have predictably hired the nerd David Stearns to be the President of Baseball Operations. (Mike De Sisti/Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)

Mets Hire David Stearns As President Of Baseball Operations

Bill Eppler has officially been cucked and I can’t stop laughing about it. Just as I warned you a few months ago, David Stearns has been hired as the new President of Baseball Operations in New York.

Andy Martino of SNY was the first to report the news:

Stearns, 38, is a New York native and a lifelong Mets fan. This is his dream job so credit to him for getting the gig. Stearns previously ran the Brewers but basically quit when he realized he wasn’t going to build a winner there. It’s just a fact. Stearns stepped down in 2022 and then Milwaukee got better without him. It’s just a fact. This won’t change a thing for the Mets.

Eppler apparently will keep his job and now will basically be Stearns’ errand boy. Talk about a hilarious turn of events. Don’t ask me why Cohen feels the need to keep Eppler around. Outside of being a puppet master, I’m not sure what Eppler does. This is the same Eppler that couldn’t win anything after inheriting Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout.

This is not an easy job to take over. The Mets have over $150 million in dead money on the books and need to figure out if they can re-sign Pete Alonso. The Mets are in a dog fight for last with the Nationals and the foundation of this roster is totally broken.

I wish you luck, Uncle Steve. Nothing will change and you will regret not calling me. I can’t wait to laugh at you again next year.
