Chick Fil A has dominated the fried chicken sandwich market for a long time. The Chick Fil A sandwich is similar to the Patriots. They have a long-reigning dynasty that cannot be touched. Popeyes has thrown their hat into the ring trying to compete while having some success. Wendy’s has its own version too. Now it’s McDonald’s turn. McDonald’s has released its own version of the sandwich and are testing it out in two cities.
The packaging is cold. Same exact packing as Chick Fil A. McDonald’s released this statement:
“A Chicken Sandwich at McDonald’s should be our top priority,” the National Owners Association board said. “JFK called for a man on the moon, our call should be a category leading chicken sandwich.”
The chicken debate needs to be settled once and for all. Too many companies are entering a war they cannot win. Chick Fil A does it the best. I’ve tried Popeyes and Wendy’s version before. Popeyes tastes like Long John Silvers if they served chicken. Everything just tasted deep-fried like the oil has been sitting there for an eternity. I couldn’t tell if I was eating chicken of fish. Wendy’s is just garbage. It’s only edible if you go with the spicy version to mask the taste.
We all know the McChicken is only a drunk food. It’s not a real chicken sandwich. This is a war that Micky D’s can’t win. Stick to something you can win like Shamrock Shakes. That’s about all you have going for you.
What I think I need to do is a blind taste test. Comment if this is something you want to see. I like to add mayo to my sandwich but there’s no way Chick Fil A won’t win. They’re just too ahead of the game.
