What an absolutely embarrassing 24 hours it has been for the Red Sox organization. Shall we review the occurrence of events when it comes to the Matt Dermody fiasco? After we’re done please ask yourself why Chaim Bloom is still employed because all that man does is humiliate this franchise on a daily basis.
Matt Dermody was promoted to the big league club to make a start against the Guardians. That sparked controversy because of the questionable things Dermody said in the past.
It created an absolute headache for the club and Bloom was forced to address the decision to the rest of the media.
Dermody makes his one start and gets crushed. Dermody, 32, took the loss after giving up three solo homers to Jose Ramirez through four innings pitched. Apparently, the Sox saw enough after four innings and DFA’d Dermody right after the game.
I’m sorry but WTF was the point?
Is this what the Red Sox have become now? A walking headache desperate to find any semblance of juice from career minor leaguers? Dermody prior to the start with Boston sported a 4.50 ERA across 44 innings with AAA Worcester. Dermody’s career big league numbers prior to the start are worse (5.60 ERA through 27 1/3 major league innings over 30 relief outings).
You’re reading that correctly. The Red Sox promoted a hateful nobody to make one start to create a headache for the club only to cut bait after four innings.
Welcome to the Chaim Bloom iteration of the Red Sox. Are you enjoying your stay?
The vision Chaim Bloom always wanted has come true. I’m just not sure why we should be forced to put up with it. https://t.co/qlLlkBjhX8
