The rumors were posted by a known gaming Twitter page @IdleSloth84_, who sourced the rumors to 4chan, before eventually deleting the tweet.
Journalist Jez Corden also debunked the false claim with his tweet.
Playground Games is a video games developer best known for the Forza Horizon series. The Forza Horizon games are popular open-world racing games known for having fantastic visuals. Playground games was acquired by Microsoft Studios in 2018 and now the developers are tasked with creating the new Fable 4 game.
The rumor revolved around the issue of what engine would be used to build the new Fable game. The new installment was rumored to look “terrible” and “unplayable,” so the developers had to start from scratch, and they were going to switch to the Unreal gaming engine.
However, as you can see from Corden’s tweet, this report was false and there are no glaring problems with the new game. After the rumors were debunked, @IdleSloth84_ quickly deleted the tweet and apologized for the mistake.
As for now, fans of the Fable video game should remain excited about new content, though Playground Games has not yet established a release date for Fable 4.
