Madden 24 Ranks Their Top 10 Quarterbacks

EA continues its dominance over the football world after the NFL and its player’s union agreed to continue the Madden video game franchise back in 2020. That means another year, another Madden.

With training camp around the corner, EA is releasing their ratings a month ahead of the game’s release on August 18th. We all know Josh Allen is on the cover of the game, but where does he rank among his fellow quarterbacks in the top 10? Let’s take a deeper look into their Madden 24 ratings.

  1. Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City Chiefs (99 overall): Mahomes takes the cake as the No. 1 quarterback in the game. The two-time Super Bowl MVP appeared on Madden 20 and Madden 22 covers, the latter alongside Tom Brady. His throw power (97) is the 2nd best in the game, and he has the best throw on the run (98). His throw under pressure is first (97), and he’s second in all three throwing accuracy categories: Deep (91), medium (93) and short (98). Mahomes deserves the honor, he threw for 5,250 yards and 41 TD on a 67.1 completion percentage, won league MVP and his second Super Bowl. Mahomes may hold the most 99 Club honors in league history, possibly only rivaled by Aaron Donald.
  2. Joe Burrow, Cincinnati Bengals (95 overall): Joe Shiesty comes in hot at the 2nd spot, five overall points higher than last year’s Madden. He leads all quarterbacks in Madden 24 in throwing accuracy stats, deep (93), medium (98) and short (99). Burrow is currently the most accurate QB in NFL history with a 68.2 completion percentage. His throw under pressure (94) is second to Mahomes. Burrow’s only knock is his throw power (87), consistently low since entering the league in 2020.
  3. Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills (94 overall): It’s strange to see the cover athlete has the 34th-best player in the game and the third-best quarterback, but that’s exactly what happened to the gunslinger out of Buffalo. Allen, who holds a throw power of 99, leads all quarterbacks in that category, continuing the tradition. Additionally, he shares the No. 8 spot among quarterbacks in speed (88) alongside Daniel Jones and Desmond Ridder. There’s nothing too special about his rating. He ranks No. 3 in throw under pressure (92), T-4 in deep accuracy (89), and T-6 in both medium and short accuracy (89, 92).
  4. Lamar Jackson, Baltimore Ravens (91 overall): The electric quarterback out of Baltimore is the last of the 90-plus overall quarterbacks. Jackson leads all QBs and is in the top 8 of all players in speed (96). He shares the No. 8 spot (93) for throwing power and the No. 5 spot (89) for throwing under pressure. In terms of accuracy, medium accuracy is the only place he’s in the Top 10, and he’s 10th at 86. His short accuracy rounds out at an 89 and his deep at an 84. What Lamar lacks in passing he makes up for with his insane athleticism. He has 96 acceleration, 95 agility, 97 ball-carrier vision, 95 change of direction, 95 throw on the run and a 90 juke.
  5. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles (88 overall): The breakout star of the 2022 season started last year at a 74 overall. Hurts impressed with 3,701 yards, 22 TDs, six interceptions, 760 yards, and 13 rushing touchdowns. He added a Pro Bowl and Super Bowl berth on top of that, losing slimly to the Chiefs. Hurts is seventh in speed (89) and tied for fifth in throw under pressure (89). He’s also tied for eighth in deep accuracy (87), ninth in medium accuracy (87), and fifth in short accuracy (94). Safe to say the Eagles’ franchise quarterback had a massive boost going into this year.
  6. Justin Herbert, Los Angeles Chargers (87 overall): Herbert is undoubtedly one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league, but he has never overcome the hump. That’s how I view him in Madden. Herbert has consistently stayed in the 80s for his whole career, and this year is no different. He is third in throwing power (96) and T-9 in throw under pressure (87). Herbert was top 5 in completion percentage last year in the NFL (68.2) and is T-9 in both medium accuracy and short accuracy (91). As one of the best deep ball throwers in the league, Herbert is T-6 in deep accuracy (88).
  7. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (87 overall): Dak is tied with Herbert at the No. 6 spot, dropping from an 89 to an 88 after a disappointing season. Dak led the league last year with a career-high 15 interceptions and just 23 TDs. He had an abysmally low 2,860 yards on top of that. Still, somehow he lands above quarterbacks like Kirk Cousins and Tua who had significantly better years. Prescott ranks 7th (88) in throw under pressure, T-6 in deep (88), No. 5 in medium (90), and No. 6 in short accuracy (93).
  8. Aaron Rodgers, New York Jets (86 overall): Rodgers had a down year in 2022, and his Madden rating took a huge hit because of it. The reigning MVP of 2021 was a 96 in Madden 22, a massive 10-point drop. Rodgers joins the Jets, aiming to lead the young team to the AFC playoffs. A-Rod is a three-time 99 Club Member, and has rated in the Top 3 in Madden the past two seasons. This year’s 86 is the worst he’s received since Madden ’10. He ranks fourth (90) in throw under pressure, and shares the eighth spot (93) in throw power. He also ranks No. 10 in deep accuracy (86), T-6 in medium accuracy (89), and shares No. 7 in short accuracy (92).
  9. Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings (84 overall): Kirk Cousins has always been a solid and consistent quarterback and looks to be rated that way in Madden 24, coming in the top 10 on this year’s list. Cousins is third in deep accuracy (90) and fourth in medium accuracy (91). He completed 65.9 percent of his passes last year to go along with 4,547 yards and 29 touchdowns. I guess you could call Cousins a really boring, but really solid quarterback in Madden.
  10. Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins (83 overall): Despite a season plagued by concussions, Tua had the best year of his career. The Alabama alum threw for 3,548 yards, 25 touchdowns and a 64.8 completion percentage. That helped jump his rating up from a 75 to an 83. Tua excels in Madden as a medium and short-range passer, ranking third in medium accuracy (92) and fourth in short accuracy (96).
