Lowering The Bar Saved Jeff Vibbert At Barstool

If you haven’t seen an episode of ‘Lowering The Bar’, let me give you the cliff notes really quick. Jeff Vibbert essentially hosts Barstool’s version of Fear Factor where personalties from the company eat or drink something that’s considered gross. Bugs, eyes, hearts, etc. Anything you can think of that’s edible is on the table.

More importantly, Lowering The Bar has really saved Jeff Vibbert at Barstool. Nobody will say or admit as much but it’s true. Vibbert, 30, originally came to Barstool as part of the OG Pat McAfee crew. That’s when Barstool controlled the Pat McAfee show and held a secondary office in Indianapolis.

Joey Molinaro and $20 Chef were also part of that crew. Both are no longer part of Barstool. Somehow, Vibbert (and remains the only notable on standing) still is and really didn’t have much of a leg to stand on. Vibbert isn’t out here putting together funny blogs. Instead, he eats things that make you want to vomit once a week and gets paid to do so.

Not a bad gig when you think about it. Joe Rogan did pretty well for himself after Fear Factor. Vibbert might be on the right track too. He’s already on the DL landed Kelly Keegs. Vibbert just deserves credit for surviving Barstool without really having much discernible talent.

Lowering The Bar is a great segment. It’s a great watch if you’re bored. People still watch the Jackass movies so there is obviously something to watching people suffer. In the content game, it’s important to just try things and be creative. For Vibbert, it worked out.
