Is Leon Edwards Scared Of Colby Covington?
Leon Edwards might be the Welterweight champion of the world. He sure isn’t acting like one. Yesterday news came out that Edwards said Colby Covington will not get the next shot at the title. Keep in mind that Dana White already said Covington is next in line to get a shot at the title. If we’re being real, can we just call it how it is? Edwards is scared and that’s all there is to this.
Edwards can spin this into whatever he wants. The bottom line is no champion acts like this. These are the words of a coward and I see right through his BS.
I’m not a Covington guy. I don’t care who wins the fight. However, there is no denying the fact that these are the words of a terrified individual.
A: Covington already beat Jorge Masvidal and it wasn’t close.
B: Covington literally made weight for this fight. He traveled all the way to London and made weight in preparation to be the back up for this fight in case it went haywire. He’s also the number one contender. How is that undeserving?
C: The only notable losses Covington has are to Kamaru Usman. An Usman that was much younger than his current 35 year old washed up self. The last time Covington fought Usman in 2021 was much closer than the second time Edwards fought Usman before the head kick. Just saying.
We already know if Khamzat Chimaev made weight he would clobber Edwards. Edwards knows the truth. He’s just running from it. If the man wasn’t scared he would take the Covington fight without a problem. Except we both know the truth. Covington is a nightmare stylistic matchup for Edwards and he wants no part of it. Man is running scared and it’s sad.
