Kendrick Perkins will be forever cherished in the city of Boston. The direct opposite is true for Kyrie Irving. Perk has transitioned nicely into his role in the media. He’s good for a note worthy sound bite pretty much every day. This next one is as good as it gets.
Kendrick Perkins went in on Kyrie Irving while he was broadcasting the Celtics game for NBC Sports Boston:
The thing that I love about Perk is that he’s a straight shooter. Too many people in the media try to ride the fence. Pick a lane, bud. Perk lets you know what he’s thinking constantly and he’s never afraid to say anything. That’s my kind of guy. We need more people like Perk in the media. You have to appreciate that quality about him.
Here’s what I know. ESPN, NBC Sports Boston, the White House, I don’t care who I’m speaking to. Get Kendrick Perkins on more broadcasts.
I’ve said this a bunch. I really tried to defend Kyrie during his time with the Celtics. I’m a man of honor and integrity. You can’t defend him. It’s impossible. How do you hold an event with season ticket holders, say you are going to re-sign, then act miserable the whole season, and then leave? Not to mention he just shut down in the playoffs.
I’m with you, Perk. Every time I think of Kyrie Irving he makes Kendrick Perkins and I want to throw up. Who wouldn’t want to play with Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward, and Marcus Smart? Kemba Walker has helped turn that exact team into a potential title contender. Nothing has really changed outside of swapping Kemba for Kyrie. Well, and Al Horford was always going to be addition by subtraction. Same for Terry Rozier.
