A wide receiver who is a total knucklehead. You don’t say! Never heard that story before! I assume you’re smart enough to sense the sarcasm there so I’m just going to leave this link and keep things moving. Let’s get right to business and have a chat about the Kyren Lacy 2025 NFL Draft profile!

Again, a big conversation with this one is going to be the off-the-field stuff. You can click the link in the intro paragraph to learn all about it. I’d imagine it’s going to affect his draft stock considering he received no Combine invite and was otherwise on track to be a second, third, or fourth round pick. Now we’re talking about way later than that or maybe even a La’El Collins situation where he goes undrafted.

If we want to stick with the negative train, there’s one clear thing holding Lacy back on the field. The guy has all the pure movement skills of the LSU freak shows before him. Maybe not elite but can really move and shift around out there. The dude just stinks at actually finishing the play. It definitely wasn’t a one week sort of thing either. Pick any LSU game out of the Stock Report notes (and I watched a lot of LSU this year) guy was out here dropping balls like it’s his job.

Then it makes you go back and really think. Is he just a ten cent head and has focus drop issues or is it a case of just having bad hands? Maybe it’s both.

Lacy, 24, is a former four star guy out of the state of Louisiana. Spent two years with the Ragin Cajuns before taking his talents to LSU. It took him some time to really be a factor in college. Finally hit the 30 reception mark in a season in 2023. Averaged 18.6 yards per catch that season and seven touchdowns. That was playing that third WR role behind Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas. Then popped as an older player this past year notching 58 receptions for 866 yards and nine scores. No question he was the number one receiver with the Tigers this year.

Checks in at 6-foot-2, 213, and can really thrive in the route running department. I don’t have any doubt he can get open. Has a quick release off the line too. Not a speed demon but does have quick feet. Not going to kill anyone blocking in the run game but can play a bunch of different roles while creating after the catch.

I would probably have Lacy inside my top ten wide receiver list but that’s not the case anymore given the circumstances here. This is one you’re going to have to dig into in terms of the character stuff. If that checks out, he’s certainly someone I’m interested in getting a look at if no one takes him in the draft. That’s far from a certainty though as we still don’t have all the details of what’s going on.
