It’s time to eat those W’s in the Big Apple! Jameis Winston has found a job and has signed with the New York Giants. The former Florida State product will sign a two-year deal worth a total of $8 million.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported the news.
The Giants also released a presser on the news:
“According to reports, the New York Giants agreed to terms with quarterback Jameis Winston, pending a physical.”
Winston, 31, has 154 touchdowns compared to 111 interceptions through 105 games in his NFL career. That’s the Jameis experience right there. The former first overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft has suited up for the Bucs, Saints, and Browns during his NFL career. I can’t imagine this precludes the Giants from adding another QB but I also can’t imagine that Malik Nabers fantasy owners will be upset if Jameis is the one taking snaps this year given the style of his play.
Aaron Rodgers, Russell Wilson, and Joe Flacco are still out there in free agency. I guess it wouldn’t be overly surprising if the Giants went down that route. They also might snag Shedeur Sanders with the third overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. All of that remains to be seen though.
If anyone cares, yes, Tommy DeVito is still on the roster. I’d imagine he’s the QB3 on the roster once the Giants add one more guy whether that’s in the draft or Aaron Rodgers unwisely signs with the G-Men.
