Kyle Pitts is a highly sought-after tight end for the Florida Gators, and chances are he will be on a lot of team’s draft boards. Some experts say Pitts will end up going in the top five due to his elite talent that stands out from any other tight ends coming out of college. Anything could happen on draft day. But if anything is for sure, it’s that Kyle Pitts’ dad, Kelly, can’t stand the cold any longer. Kelly Pitts currently resides in Pennsylvania and has lived in the cold for over 30 years, but apparently, he’s had enough. I guess going to his son’s games in Florida and other SEC warm-weather states wasn’t enough for him.
Even if Kyle Pitts got drafted to a franchise that knows how to win like the New England Patriots, with the chance to play under a Hall of Fame coach in Bill Belichick, Kelly Pitts wouldn’t give two shits. Kelly has been living in Pennsylvania just a couple of states west of Massachusetts for over 30 years. Yet this man would rather see his son get drafted to a stinker like the Jaguars as long as he can end up somewhere warm. Even the Denver Broncos are out of the conversation for Kelly Pitts. Just read what he had to say:
“I don’t want to go to Denver, nor do I want to go to New England,” Kelly Pitts said, “I don’t want to go anywhere it’s cold. I’ve been living here 30 years and change. I’m ready for some pure heat.”
Yes, Florida is synonymous with producing stud tight ends. Jordan Reed, Aaron Hernandez, Ben Troupe, and many more have come out of the Gators program. But Kyle Pitts is just different. This kid was an All-SEC tight end in 2019 and had 649 yards on 54 catches. He is an absolute force and can go up and get any ball thrown his way unlike many of us have ever seen before. Just ask Vendetta Sports Media Founder Trey Daubert how he feels about Kyle Pitts.
For a lot of college players, you really can’t tell whose talent will translate well in the NFL, even first-rounders. But with some, you just know. And with Kyle Pitts, you just know. This dude is a house and nobody will be able to guard him. Those puny little cornerbacks in the NFL certainly won’t know what to do with a 6’5″, 245-pound body. Go ahead, pass him off to a linebacker and Pitts will blow by them too. Chances are that Pitts will end up on a team like Cincinnati around the fourth pick in the draft, but no matter where he goes, he will thrive. And there’s about a 50/50 chance his dad hates where he ends up.
