Free-agent point guard Kyle Lowry has agreed to a three-year contract with the Miami Heat in a sign-and-trade with the Raptors. The deal is reportedly worth 3-years and $90 million for the veteran point guard.

First reported by: Adrian Wojnarowski:

After nine seasons with the Toronto Raptors, Kyle Lowry’s tenure has finally come to an end. Lowry did his part by bringing Toronto their first-ever NBA Championship in 2019. He will forever go down as one of the most beloved players in franchise history. As the Raptors look to rebuild for the considerable future, Lowry is out as he continues to look to win in his last years. This is a great signing for the Miami Heat. He fits the Miami Heat culture with his toughness and ability to shoot the three-point shot. Kyle Lowry is going to go compete every night on the basketball court along with teammate Jimmy Butler. He will be a definite upgrade over Goran Dragic at the point guard position.

Kyle Lowry Not Only Big Spending For Miami Heat

It’s been a busy start to free agency for the Miami Heat as they have retained two players of their own. Jimmy Butler is expected to sign a 4-year $184 million dollar contract extension. They also signed sharpshooter Duncan Robinson to a 5-year deal worth $90 million deal. Between the 3 signings, the Heat spent $364 million in a matter of 30 minutes.

Kyle Lowry will be a perfect fit with the Miami Heat entering the new season. He will be surrounded by shooters in Duncan Robinson and Tyler Herro, who will be looking to bounce back from a sophomore slump. The pick and roll game with emerging big man Bam Adebayo will be among the best of them. Lowry will also bring great leadership and championship pedigree to a young team. Between Lowry and Jimmy Butler, both of them bring attitude to the team that will make others better. Look for the Miami Heat to be much improved this season as they try to get back to the finals.
