Kyle Kuzma signs four-year deal worth $102 million with Washington Wizards
After a short stint in Washington, Kyle Kuzma has resigned again with the Wizards. The young forwards signs a four-year deal worth $102 million. Via Woj.
Kyle Kuzma is back in Washington on a massive pay day for the forward. Last season, Kuzma averaged a career high in around 21 points per game on 45% from the field and 33% from deep. On top of the points, Kuzma was on the glass for Washington, racking up seven rebounds per game. A marking that is second best of his career. Along with the points and rebounds, Kuzma was able to dish the rock on average four times a game, marking a career high in assists per game.
Kuzma will be the focal point of the Wizards offense going forward now. With trading away stars like Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis, the Wizards are in for a long and hard rebuild. On the bright side, the Wizards have accumulated many picks and players along the way. In trading away Chris Paul, the Wizards received a young promising guard in Jordan Poole.
Last season, Washington finished 35-47, which would be fourth worst in the Eastern conference. The Wizards had the potential to do some damage in the east, and potentially make a run at the playoffs. Unfortunately, the Wizards would fall short of all expectations last year due to injuries and inconsistent play. Now, they’re turning in the opposite direction. Washington and Kuzma are looking at a mass rebuild going forward. Signing Kuzma to a lengthy contract is one step in the right direction for the Wizards now.
How long will the rebuild in Washington take? Is the Kuzma contract well worth it’s price? Let us know in the comments.
