Kung Fu HBO Max Review
Welcome back to the TV show reviews by Trey. As usual, we try to keep things spoiler free while giving you all the information you need to know before you invest your time into the show. Is Kung Fu a show that you should watch? Let’s talk about it.
For starters, I really like this show. It’s not perfect but if you’re looking for something to binge this show will get the job done. The storyline is intriguing even if it gets off the rails by the time the show concludes. If watching Nicky Shen beat people up doesn’t do it for you, I don’t really know what to tell you.
The first season is really good. The second season is solid. The third season is meh. By the end of things, I caught myself looking at my phone rather than actually watching the show. Still, the first season is really good. For me, it just sort of falls off when things no longer seem realistic. At the start when Nicky runs away from home and trains to be a fighter, it’s hard not to enjoy the storyline.
The show has been canceled after three seasons but I still definitely encourage you to watch it. I think the show is a solid 6.5 out of 10. Not earth-shattering good but a solid and entertaining watch. Olivia Liang does a great job as the main character of the show and you eventually find yourself invested in the rest of the cast. Overall a solid show that I would recommend.
