Kingsley Eguakun 2024 NFL Draft Profile

One of my favorite parts of any draft cycle is finding some guys who are not on anyone’s radars. Diving into their tape and thinking you might have found a hidden little gem. To be straightforward in the 2024 NFL Draft profile of Florida’s Kingsley Eguakun, I think we might have one here. Eguakun doesn’t seem like he is being talked about at all, and I believe that might be a mistake. What does his draft profile look like? Let’s talk about it.

SEC Offensive Linemen should be a hot commodity, you’d think. Especially one with a fair amount of playing time, no? Eguakun fits the bill. He’s played in 42 games while at Florida, including 26 in a row as a starter going into his Senior year, where he would only start four games due to injury. That 2021 Florida offense was 16th in the country and the OL unit allowed just 14 sacks all year, which would be second in the SEC and seventh in FBS.

Off the bat, I believe a move out to Guard would be best for Kingsley Eguakun (yes, he does have experience there). I really enjoyed watching him at the Senior Bowl this year. He has a nice base and uses his punch to get to his defender early. These punches always seem to land in the same spot rep over rep. The motor runs hot. He flies off the line to get to the second level. I like the knee bend to him as well, does a good job sitting down.

Some things he could improve on is that quick defenders tend to get into his chest with regularity. Eguakun is also prone to leaning a bit too forward at times, causing him to lose matchups to physical Defensive Tackles.

I have seen some of the big names places, whose names we will not share because Vendetta is much better than them, have Kingsley Eguakun as an undrafted free agent. I don’t get it. He reminds me of O’Cyrus Torrence, who I loved coming out last year. Is he among the best guards in the class? Maybe not, but he is more than deserving of a roster spot. I have a day-three grade on him, but I would be fine using a comp pick in either round four or five on him. I think he could turn into a nice rotational piece or more someday.
