Tyler Guyton 2024 NFL Draft Profile

The 2024 NFL Draft profiles are coming in hot, and you can expect a ton more between now and draft day. As you can tell, we are going to be going over Oklahoma’s Tyler Guyton. Guyton had a good showing at the Senior Bowl which I believe was needed to help his slightly regressing stock. Guyton is a weird eval as there is a lot to like but there are some red flags. What does his draft stock look like? Let’s talk about it.

I do like offensive linemen who have experience playing multiple positions along the line, which Guyton has going for him. He has played both Left Guard, Left Tackle, and Right Tackle. He started his career at TCU where he only played in eight games over two seasons. At Oklahoma, he would play in 18 games over two seasons, totaling 973 snaps and allowing one sack while playing Right Tackle.

There is a ton to work with in Tyler Guyton. He is a giant (6’7, 330 lbs) and has pretty solid feet. His 40-time and split didn’t match the play speed and with OL that’s what I am more focused on. He gets off the line quickly in run blocking, showing a mauling side when trying to create a lane. His long arms allow him to get to his defender first to create contact. Always feels like he is in balance.

Something just feels off with Guyton. Firstly, he needs to listen to Shakira more and get those hips loosened up. They’re way too tight. He plays a little tall, struggling at times to sit down, leaving him prone to being backed up quickly. He also doesn’t have a ton of experience as he hasn’t played a full season, so it is hard to project his outlook based on a limited sample size. Seems to get overwhelmed by stunts.

I think Tyler Guyton has a good amount of potential to him, I am just not sure I am willing to invest to see it through. I think there are far more polished Tackles in this class who have just as much if not more potential. He gets a day three grade from me, and I am not sure if I would choose him in the fourth round, either. I would use a comp pick in round five on him, but I don’t expect him to be there.
