Keion White Admits He Misses ‘Hard Ass’ Bill Belichick

Did the Patriots make the right call to part ways with Bill Belichick? Yes, maybe after 23 years you need a different voice to shake up the room. However, not everybody is thrilled about the fact that Belichick is gone. Keion White is one player who has become vocal about missing the former franchise icon.

“We don’t got Bill cursing us out every play anymore, but it’s still pretty similar,” White said.

“I miss it,” White said. “I like Bill. He’s my type of coach, like a hard-ass. I like that. I respond well to things like that. But Mayo’s done a pretty good job, too. It’s all different. Mayo’s doing a really good job of staying true to himself, not trying to fill somebody else’s shoes, but create his own path, and I really respect that.”

It’s important to note that White is one of the last draft picks Belichick ever made. New England selected White in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft. White certainly has potential but he’s still a raw player. It wasn’t too long ago that White was a tight end for Old Dominion. Now he’s a three technique along the defensive line.

As a rookie, White played in 16 games including four starts. He notched just one sack but overall he showed a lot of future promise. He’s just going to have to become that player without the tutelage of Belichick. Something it appears he wishes he had on his side heading into this season.
