Keaton Mitchell lit the world on fire right out of the gates as a rookie. The former East Carolina product averaged 8.4 yards per carry on 47 attempts as a rookie. Then the knee injury happened.
Heading into year three, will the Ravens get their running back spark plug back? Mitchell claims he’s healthy and feeling good. Oh, and he also mentioned that the Ravens pretty much forced him to shut it down last year in preparation for this upcoming season.
“I feel like I’m back better than when I first got here,” he said. “It’s going to be a movie for sure.”
“They were just holding me back and telling me to chill. ‘You go out there and do what you can do,'” Mitchell said. “But hopefully this year I can help the team out in different ways.”
Head coach John Harbaugh relayed similar sentiments. He says Mitchell’s speed is back and he appears ready to go.
“It looked like he had the speed and then just the ability to adjust and track,” Head Coach John Harbaugh said. “Last year, probably, you could tell he was thinking through the knee [injury] a little bit it seemed like. I haven’t seen any of that so far this spring, so it’s good to see.”
Side note: If you want to read our draft profile on Mitchell… here you go. By the way, another reminder you won’t find another profile more accurate on the player he’s projected to become at the NFL level… if healthy.
