Oregon Ducks defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux has signed a marketing deal with United Airlines, as first reported by ESPN. Thibodeaux is a projected first round pick, with some NFL analysts, including Mel Kiper Jr., placing the 20-year-old at the top of their draft boards. The California native recorded 38 tackles and three sacks in seven games for the Ducks last season.
Thibodeaux has taken full advantage of the NCAA’s NIL rules that went into effect July 1. In regards to his new partnership with United Airlines, Thibodeaux had this to say:
“Partnering with United Airlines was a no-brainer for me, as they are a premium brand with the same core values as I have. I look forward to a long-standing relationship with United.”
VIA ESPN
The deal, according to ESPN, will include direct flights from Eugene, Oregon to “select Ducks away games.” The first of these flights will begin two days before the Ducks’ season opener against Ohio State in Columbus on Sept. 11. Details are still emerging regarding the deal between Thibodeaux and United Airlines.
This is also not the first NIL deal Thibodeaux has signed this offseason. In July, he partnered with Nike founder Phil Knight on a NFT that involved a piece of art. The source close to ESPN also told the sports giant that Thibodeaux has signed a six-figure memorabilia deal and multiple deals with various health and wellness companies.
