Josaiah Stewart 2025 NFL Draft Profile

Josaiah Stewart is next up for the 2025 NFL Draft profile blender. We’re not going to take forever on this one. Maybe Herrick will even yell at me for this one, who knows?

Stewart, 21, was a three star recruit out of high school. The Everett, Massachusetts, native was the 34th ranked edge and fourth overall player in the state. He started out his career at Coastal Carolina spending two years there before wrapping up with two years with the Wolverines.

The timeline here is so weird. Stewart came out of the gates hot. He notched 12.5 sacks as a freshman, and that number dropped to 3.5 the following year during his final campaign at Coastal. Then he ripped out 5.5 sacks in 2023 and upped it to 8.5 this past year. I watched plenty of Michigan. What I can say for sure is that he doesn’t have that twitched up element in his game that some of the prior Wolverines guys had in the past.

Here’s the other part that makes this a difficult evaluation. No Combine workout and his measurements are wacky. 6-foot-1, 249, with under 32 inch arms. He’s built like a standout linebacker but plays edge. By the way, also slow as dirt. A 4.85 40-yard dash with the fluffed Pro Day numbers is gross, especially when you’re undersized.

When it comes to Josaiah Stewart, Herrick may yell at me for this, but I just don’t see it. I see him as a 6th-7th round depth piece. Based on the simulators I’ve been doing, he won’t be on my team. Not an athlete, undersized, and a weird ass timeline makes me way too hesitant to go high here.
