Jorge Masvidal Rips Into “Little Boy” Conor McGregor

UFC star Jorge Masvidal has seemed to put his legal issues with Colby Covington behind him and now his attention is on returning to the UFC octagon. In an interview with ESPN Deportes, Jorge Masvidal spoke about when he would return and gave his thoughts on a fight with Conor McGregor.

“This year, I’ll guaranteed return,” Masvidal said. “I don’t know the date yet. I think that with two fights, I can be in contention for the title or in a title contender fight.”

As Masvidal and McGregor both sit on the sideline without opponents, fans and media will speculate about the two being paired to fight each other. After all, this does look like the perfect time to book a fight between the two. However, Masvidal does not seem to think that fight will be as close as many other people.

“He is false. He knows that I am a man who hits hard and that I come to kill. I do not come to hug in the cage,” Masvidal said. “I am going to give everything inside me to kill him. I have a little size, although now he’s shooting up and putting steroids and all kinds of things (in his body), but he is still a little boy.”

In order for this fight to take place, McGregor will have to make a return to the 170-pound weight class. This is certainly an option and it is unlikely the weight will prevent this fight from taking place. However, if McGregor decides to fight someone else. Masvidal would not be too fazed.

“I would love to fight at 170 pounds, but I don’t wait for anyone,” Masvidal said. “If he wants to do it, I’ll break his face. If he doesn’t want to do it, let someone come next.”

After a pair of losses to UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman and another loss to rival Colby Covington, it is paramount that Masvidal shows he can still compete against the best in the world. For the fans of Jorge Masvidal, it is promising to hear that he is committed to returning to his elite form.

“There are options, but the first thing that matters is me – to be in the best condition of my life, to improve the fight,” Masvidal said. “Everyone knows that I can throw the hands, the kicks, the knees. People know that they can’t beat me with their hands, that they have to throw me into the fight. It’s something that I have to improve and find the formula for.”

If Masvidal can get back to his 2019 form the future will be bright. With potential fights against Conor McGregor, Stephen Thompson, and Leon Edwards all possible, do not count out Gamebred’s ability to work his way back to another title shot.
