Jon Jones wants Tyson Fury bout, says he is willing to box
Tyson Fury, one of the best boxers in the world, has continued to line himself up for a fight with the UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones. There are a ton of questions surrounding what sport the fight would take place in, but Jones has attempted to solve some of those roadblocks.
The MMA GOAT has stated that he is willing to box Fury.
“I would love it if Dana [White] could make that [Tyson Fury] fight happen,” Jones said. “That’s one thing about the UFC, we always give the fans what they want to see. Tyson Fury is just such a magnifienty oppoentand I’d be awesome to amke that fight happen. I am up for it. I’d even be willing to box him. Let’s see what happens.”

There has been a ton of talk about a potential Jones and Fury matchup. At the moment, the majority of the discussions between the two sides have entered around whether the fight would take place in boxing or MMA.
The three biggest players in these negotiations will be Jones, Fury and UFC president Dana White. Fury has stated that he is interested in a boxing match while White has said he would book a fight between the pair in the UFC. Jones has been the only person that has shown the willingness to cross sports lines.
Despite Jones’ willingness to box Fury, he would need White’s permission. Jones recently signed a long-term extension with the UFC, which restricts Jones from boxing without the promotion’s permission.
This is not the first time that Fury has attempted to lure an MMA fighter into the ring. At one point, there were rumors regarding a bout between Fury and former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. Once the UFC released Ngannou, those rumors began to decrease. Interestingly enough, Ngannou’s UFC release made the bout much more likely.
Fury has constantly been in and out of fight rumors since his last bout which took place in December 2022. The world of boxing wants Fury to fight Oleksandr Usyk in an undisputed title fight — one that seems unlikely, however. In addition, Fury has been linked to a handful of other notable boxers. If you toss Jones and Ngannou in the mix, it is nearly impossible to tell who Fury will fight next.
Will Jon Jones and Tyson Fury actually fight? If they do, what sport will it be in? Who knows.
If you are confused about the possibility of these two fighting, join the club. It is a lot easier to find questions about this situation than legitimate answers. That said, if Jones is willing to set in the boxing ring, this fight becomes a lot more likely.
