John Cena continues to make headlines whether or not he’s in WWE or not. Cena is one of the biggest movie and television stars to come out of the WWE. So it comes as no surprise that he makes headlines when he isn’t wrestling with the company. But these headlines do involve him appearing in WWE. Cena hasn’t been involved with WWE like he used to be. He has been going after other opportunities outside the company and having a lot of success. In 2020, he only wrestled in one match, the FireFly Funhouse match and in 2021, he only competed in a handful of matches. 2022 is likely going to be the first year since Cena started with the company that he won’t compete in at least one match. But that doesn’t mean he isn’t going to appear in WWE before the year is up.

According to Variety, John Cena’s next WWE appearance reportedly has been revealed. John Cena is reportedly expected to appear on Smackdown Live on December 30th, according to an individual who has knowledge of the situation. Smackdown Live will be in Tampa Florida on December 30th. Cena last appeared for the company during Monday Night Raw in June. Although he didn’t wrestle, he did cut a promo and had some segments backstage. There have been some concerns about whether Cena will be able to appear at WrestleMania 39. John Cena may be the most successful actor or actress to transition from the WWE to Hollywood. Now it’s unclear whether or not he will be competing on Smackdown, but it is probably unlikely.

Furthermore, there have been reports that John Cena will have one more match at WrestleMania 39. These are all rumors, but it has led fans to speculate about who his final opponent should be. Similar to John Cena, the Rock’s WrestleMania availability is unknown. The Rock has a very busy schedule as well, so it is going to be interesting to see if two of the biggest stars in WWE history make it to the biggest event for the company.
