When it happens, just remember where you heard it first. You can put this one in the book right now. Joe Milton is going in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Anybody that tells you otherwise is wrong.
Many college football or NFL fans may be unfamiliar with Milton. I have Milton ranked as my QB4 for the 2024 NFL Draft and it’s exactly where I think he’s going to go. Right after Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Quinn Ewers come off the board, teams are going to try to target the guy with the highest upside. Milton is the only one that fits that mold. Just like Anthony Richardson this past draft cycle, Milton will be the sexy name that teams think they can mold into something great.
Milton, 23, has been around the block. He started out at Michigan but never got a sturdy hand on the job. Milton then transferred to Tennessee and has been waiting in the wings spending time backing up Hendon Hooker. Just like Hooker did this past year, Milton is going to light the world on fire and already showed flashes of what’s coming this year.
After Hooker tore his ACL, Milton controlled the starting job with the Vols to finish off the season. In 82 passing attempts last year, Milton posted a 10-0 TD to INT ratio. Yeah…
Teams are going to fall in love with the tools. I’m trying to warn you now so you can stay ahead of the curve. We’re talking 6-foot-5, 244, and an absolute cannon. Let’s say Josh Allen is in the 100 percentile in arm strength. Well, Joe Milton is probably in the 99th percentile. It’s a ROCKET.
Even if you’re not a Joe Milton believer, you should be because Josh Heupal is going to make sure he thrives. We saw what Hooker did last year at Tennessee. Well, Milton is way more talented and he’s going to connect on those long bombs that Heupal dials up. Tennessee’s head coach is brilliant and he will get the most out of him.
