Jim Harbaugh Wanted To Coach The Bears But They Turned Him Down

I said it a couple of years ago and I’ll say it again. The NFL team that passes on Jim Harbaugh will live to regret it. The Chicago Bears have officially entered the chat because that’s exactly what they did.

Chicago sports talk host Dan McNeil and former NFL general manager Michael Lombardi have confirmed the same thing. Jim Harbaugh wanted the Bears. The interest was not mutual. Mostly because Kevin Warren wasn’t going to let it happen.

Lombardi’s follow-up came on the Pat McAfee Show:

“Kevin Warren is running that team. Let’s make no mistake about that. You can sit there and say that somebody else is, but he is,” Lombardi said.

“And that story about Jim Harbaugh is completely true. Remember, Warren and Harbaugh had some differences … when Warren was commissioner of the Big Ten and Harbaugh was at Michigan. But there were two teams who Jim Harbaugh would’ve loved to worked for: the Bears — who he played for — and Raiders — who he worked for in his first coaching job — but neither team decided to go after him.”

How stupid do you have to be to stick with Matt Eberflus instead? That’s the Bears for you. This team gets absolutely nothing right, yet the fans defend them anyway. Ryan Poles is an idiot and apparently, Kevin Warren let his ego get in the way. Warren refused to hire Harbaugh because of drama that stemmed back from when he was a big whig at the Big 10 Conference. Guess who’s suffering the consequences for it now? Eberflus has since been fired and Harbaugh has the Chargers in the playoffs one year on the job.

Anybody with an IQ above 40 understands that Poles is an idiot. Maybe it’s time to put Warren more under the microscope. These actions by Warren are completely stupid and it can’t be interpreted any other way. Everything they do is a disaster. Even the way they fired Eberflus was a disaster.

The team is a total trainwreck and until they bring in real leadership the Bears are unfortunately stuck in hell.
