Jerry Jones is NOT happy with Jason Garrett. That’s probably putting it kindly. It seems evident that Garrett will be fired at some point. The latest being this upcoming offseason. The Cowboys owner took direct shots at Garrett after Dallas lost to New England 13-9. It all but confirmed that Dallas will be looking for a new head coach after the season.
I’ll leave some of his other quotes below:
“Special teams is a total reflection of coaching,” The special-teams gaffes included a blocked punt that led to a touchdown, plus multiple failures of execution on kickoff returns and a missed field goal.
“With the makeup of this team, I shouldn’t be this frustrated,” Jones also said, via the team’s official website. Which is another way of saying, “We have the talent, so talent isn’t the problem.”
“…This very frustrating and it’s frustrating to just be reminded that some of the fundamentals of football and coaching were what beat us out there today,” Jones said. “They took advantage of the weather. They took advantage, there’s no question. He (Belichick) saw the ball was going to be hard to handle. There’s no question he put pressure on the people returning the kicks and people handling the ball on special teams. There’s no question the coach used that to really put some special emphasis on it. So yeah, I’m frustrated. I shouldn’t be this frustrated.”
Jason Garrett is getting thrown to the wolves. Jerry has been overly patient with Garrett but I think the time is finally here. I don’t see how Garrett survives this. Dallas doesn’t have a win vs a team with a winning record. All of the Cowboys wins are against losing teams where the Cowboys talent in enough to get the job done. A frog could coach them and you would have the same results.
We’re 10 years into Jason Garrett and this question hasn’t been answered. What does Jason Garrett do? He claps. That’s it. Nobody else has an answer. Jerry Jones is going to fire Jason Garrett. It’s a matter of when not if. Talent is not the issue here (unless you ask bone head, Tony Dungy).
