If you have a phone with access to the internet/social media then surely you have heard about this by now. But just a few days ago, the Supreme Court voted to end the practice of Affirmative Action.
People have been going crazy on both sides with Republicans chalking it up as a win and Democrats going into a meltdown. While many people have said very stupid things, Jemele Hill easily takes the cake for the most ignorant thing said.
As the title states, Hill claimed that Asians are “carrying the water for white supremacy,” trying to say that Asians are part of the “white supremacy” that runs this country. Sighhhhh, I honestly find it amazing that people who say and believe these kinds of things can end up with such important jobs.
Can’t wait until she reads that you gladly carried the water for white supremacy and stabbed the folks in the back whose people fought diligently for Asian American rights in America. https://t.co/JA1iTp6A6I

I mean this quote is just so wrong and racist on several different levels. I don’t even think I can fully cover why this tweet is so horrible. But in short, I don’t think Asians hate Affirmative Action because they are racists.
It probably has more to do with the fact that’s its prevented Asians from getting into schools at an alarming rate. A study taken showed that Asians needed to score 140 points higher than White students, 270 points higher than Hispanic students, and 450 points higher than Black students on the SAT just to be considered for a spot in a university.
I don’t know about you but that does not sound like equality to me. Not at all. You’re telling a race that they have to do exceptionally better to just have a chance? Imagine you are going into a job interview against one other person that you have more qualifications, more experience, have a better interview and are overall the better candidate.
Now imagine after all that the boss brings you in and says despite all that you didn’t get the job because the other person was African American. Imagine that happening to you over a few decades. You would be kind of annoyed as well, right?
Getting into a university should be based on one thing and one thing alone: Merit. That means your grades, test scores and extracurricular activities. Your race or ethnicity should be the last thing factoring into your admission.
Everyone should have an equal shot, and that’s all this ruling is doing; Giving Asians the fair shot they didn’t have before.
I don’t know why anybody would have a problem with people being selected for something based on merit. If I’m going into surgery, I want the most qualified Doctor, not someone who got there based mostly on their race.
Nothing else should factor in other than what is on the transcript. Personality matters with many of these top schools conducting interviews with potential students. But for the most part, your grades and test scores should dictate whether you get in.
But for some reason, African Americans and Democrats still want handouts and be given advantages. Even if it’s at the disadvantage of another minority. I don’t know about you but that sounds like something called discrimination.
Of course, mainstream media would never push that narrative but I’m not mainstream media, so I will call it like I see it. I understand African Americans being upset with this ruling, it’s not news anybody would enjoy waking up to hear. But to come out and claim they are aiding in White Supremacy is insensitive and flat-out wrong.
Let me ask you this Jemele Hill: What would your reaction be if you kept getting passed over for a job in favor of a white man, only to find out that he is less qualified than you but has to be let in because of some stupid standing tradition? You wouldn’t be a fan of that.
But when it’s benefiting African Americans, it doesn’t matter who it’s negatively affecting? If you can’t tell, I am largely in favor of the Supreme Courts’ ruling. You may disagree with me and that’s totally O.K., but just know I am on the side of letting merit decide these admissions. You guys are in favor of letting discrimination continue.
Of course, you don’t see it that way but I wouldn’t expect you to. You have an agenda to push as everyone in politics does, and agreeing with this ruling doesn’t fit the liberal narrative.
In reality, this shouldn’t be a big deal for African Americans. I don’t think African Americans should have any difficulty still getting into universities.
Or maybe you are one of those people claiming to be an ally for African Americans. Only to turn around and try and explain that they won’t be able to get into universities without Affirmative Action.
Once again, starting to sound a little racist to me, but I’m sure they won’t see it like that and will continue to complain.
But I think I’ve said enough by now. You know where I stand on the issue and there isn’t much else I can say at this point. I think this ruling is a good one. You should too.
Jemele Hill should be ashamed of herself for this tweet. It’s not only offensive but simply isn’t true. Hopefully, somebody with a brain can try and explain that to her. Good luck to whoever gets tasked with that.
Have a good day and if you disagree I would love to hear about it below. Try to keep it civil, though.
