Report: Jeanie Buss Contemplated Trading LeBron James Because She Was/Is Pissed At Rich Paul

The Los Angeles Lakers season has been over for weeks now. Who would have thought that a team that has LeBron James wouldn’t even make the playoffs? Hate to see that. Anyway, the drama in LA doesn’t end. Publicly, the Lakers blamed the Pelicans for leaking Anthony Davis trade rumors. Internally within the Lakers building, that doesn’t appear to be the truth.

According to Ric Bucher of Bleacher Report: Jeanie Buss was so pissed off at Rich Paul for leaking trade offers, she contemplated trading LeBron James.

“The subject of moving James, however, was contemplated by the Lakers, a team source said, weeks before Van Gundy aired it. When rumors engulfed the team at the February trade deadline that it was willing to trade anyone other than James to acquire All-Star forward Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans, James’ agent, Rich Paul, was widely accused of spreading those rumors because Davis is also one of his clients. Paul denied to B/R that he leaked the Lakers’ interest in Davis, but Buss suspected otherwise and was furious. The idea of terminating the franchise’s relationship with Paul by moving James at least crossed Buss’ mind, the team source said, and Paul was made aware of that. That prompted Paul to reach out to Buss to clear the air, and whatever ill will existed supposedly dissipated.”

I honestly don’t remember if Bucher is reliable or not but if this is true, I love it. It’s never a win – win proposition when you make a deal with the devil. In this instance, the devil has 7 heads and one of them is Rich Paul. He just looks like a sketchy rat faced schemer. He’s never up to anything good. Just doing the boss’ dirty work.
