The Jazz Robbed Minnesota On The Rudy Gobert Trade
Rudy Gobert just got traded for three unprotected first round picks. Oh, wait there’s more.
The picks going to Utah, per sources: include unprotected 1sts in 23, 25, 27, a swap in ‘26, and a top 5 protected in ‘29. Show them what else they won, Bob!
The Timberwolves are sending Malik Beasley, Patrick Beverley, Walker Kessler, and Jarred Vanderbilt too! Ok, Bob. Show them what they REALLY WON!
Get ready for the best part! You won an early asshole of the year! Congratulations! You put the Minnesota Timberwolves back where they belong! Right back into the basement and found a way to piss off your only real star, Anthony Edwards! Way to go Minnesota! You really outdid yourselves this time!
I’m sorry but five picks for Rudy Gobert plus Walker Kessler and Malik Beasley is insane. Danny Ainge did it again! He robbed another sorry fool. Apparently, the guy that drafted Nikola Jokic isn’t that smart. This dude Tim Connelly really tanked this job five minutes in. Impressive… even for a Minnesota GM.
Did anybody see this coming? Jackson put out a Gobert trade package post before the start of free agency. I think he may have found ten teams before listing the Wolves. With Karl-Anthony Towns on the roster, just why?
Do they actually think this Gobert-Towns duo is going to work? Sure, KAT can shoot but his defensive effort also reaches Kanter levels on occasion. Gobert is also maybe the single worst playoff guy ever? His regular season impact doesn’t translate when it counts. Gobert is also playing on a supermax contract and his next deal with Minnesota is going to make all of us vomit.
How can you do this as a small market general manager for the Timberwolves? You’re really going to give up unprotected picks while managing a team that lands zero star free agents? What happens when Edwards wants out? This core of Russell, Towns, McDaniels, Edwards, and Gobert sure isn’t enough.
Nobody thinks this is going to work. Nobody. All the Wolves have done is sign their letter of intent to botch this Edwards thing and have him walk out the door. I feel for the poor people of Minnesota. As if Kirk Cousins wasn’t enough to deal with. Now they have Gobert.
