Georgia is putting two safeties to the NFL this year. We’re covering Javon Bullard now and will hit Tykee Smith next. Let’s get through both of them. Here is your Javon Bullard 2024 NFL Draft Profile.

The Milledgeville, Georgia native checks in at 5-foot-10, 198. Bullard was a three star recruit coming out of high school. He’s not twitched up like Lewis Cine was from a few years ago but this is still a really good football player. Someone who can do a multitude of things.

Bullard ran a 4.47 at the Combine and he passed all the pure movement stuff. For Bullard it’s about what he can and can’t do. Might not hold up as a pure cover nickel but certainly be play that role in run support. Not sure he’s quite as rangy as you want as a free safety. He needs someone who will put him in that Kyle Hamilton role. The guy just has great field awareness. Can tackle, really good as a blitzer, and will make plays on the ball in an off ball role.

He played sparingly as a freshman but found his way on the field. In 2022, he took a step forward as a starter. Was incredible in the easy win over TCU. Had two picks in that game. In 2023, he had two interceptions and five pass breakups.

I’m a fan of Javon Bullard. I think one of the best safeties in the class and is just a well rounded player at the position. Lays out big hits, makes plays on the ball, and can just be that chess piece. He’s a second round player for me and should turn into a starting safety for someone who picks him.
