Jared McCain is Officially Out For The Season

The Philadelphia 76ers are having a disappointing season as they stand at 15-20. Now, the team suffered another huge hit to the roster as rookie Jared McCain will officially be done for the season. Earlier in the season, McCain tore his lateral meniscus and he was ruled out indefinitely. The 76ers were holding out hope that he could return before the season ended. However, now Philadelphia is struggling to be a play-in team and they will be without one of their young studs.

Jared McCain had a small sample size of production but he was passing the eye test with flying colors. He was not getting many minutes to start the season but due to injuries, he got his shot as a starter. In his next five games, he averaged 26.6 points and 5.2 assists on about 51 percent shooting from the field and about 47 percent shooting from three. His fantastic play was garnering himself a lot of attention which led to him winning Rookie of the Month in November.

Ultimately, McCain’s numbers would come back to earth but he was still playing well for the 76ers. The former Duke guard was settling back into his role off the bench as the 76ers became healthier. Unfortunately, the injury bug spread, and McCain’s rookie season was cut short.

The Philadelphia 76ers

The 76ers are not where they want to be right now as they sit outside the playoffs. They have new pieces to their team like Forward Paul George and small forward Caleb Martin. However, young star point guard Tyrese Maxey has done his best to try and carry the 76ers night in and night out.

Philadelphia has not been healthy with superstar Joel Embiid missing a huge chunk of time to start the season. Also, after coming back in late November he has now missed multiple games in January. This team will need to figure things out on the court and stay healthy, especially after the news that Jared McCain will be done for the rest of the season.
