James Harden Skipped Practice; Lit Up By Kenyon Martin

To nobody’s surprise, James Harden skipped practice for the second straight day today and it is unclear why. The team begins their season on the road next week against the Bucks.

Harden was a participant in the 76ers training camp despite all the drama surrounding him and Daryl Morey. Harden has been upset with how free agency went down so he exercised his 35.6 million dollar option and requested a trade.

The actions of James Harden have sparked many debates throughout the sports world and people seem to be divided on who to side with. One person that we know for a fact is not on James Harden’s side is former NBA player Kenyon Martin.

If I’m James Harden, I can’t expect them people to give me another five years for 250 million dollars, dog!” former Nets star Kenyon Martin said on Gilbert Arenas’ “Gil’s Arena” show. “Could give a f–k what he promise me sitting at the dinner table. If I’m being honest, he tell me that s–t, I’m leaving that meeting thinkin’ he’s a f–kin’ liar.

If I’m being honest with myself in this situation, everything that I’ve put on the table? The last three stops? Everything that I’ve put on the table, why would somebody sign me up for another five years for the maximum amount of money they could possibly give me? We’re naive.

If Harden were to get traded, it would be his fourth team in four years. Kenyon Martin is 100% correct in saying that he could never trust Harden despite anything he says. He is a great player on the court but his actions off the court are legendarily bad. He is constantly partying, causing drama for the team, and overall has a flakey image among NBA executives.

In my opinion, James Harden is a generational quitter. When things don’t go his way, he seems to flake on the team or just demand a trade. Besides his time with the Rockets, it seems like he just can’t see anything through. Harden seems to be searching for something he will never find. If he ever wants to win a championship, he needs to fully commit to basketball and be the leader we once knew him to be.
