The New England are bringing back wide receiver and returner Jalen Reagor, according to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz.
It is a one-year deal for Reagor’s, but the exact terms of the new deal have not been revealed yet.
Reagor, 25, played in 11 games last season for New England and caught 7 receptions for 138 yards and zero touchdowns.
During his time in New England, Reagor was used more on special teams as a kick returner. He returned seven kickoffs for 221 yards, including a 98-yard kick return touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in week 17 of last season.
Though his career as a wide receiver hasn’t lived up to his collegiate numbers, Jalen still has a future in the NFL for the foreseeable future. Reagor’s best career season came in the 2020 season with the Philadelphia Eagles, when he had 31 receptions for 396 yards and two touchdown catches. He also rushed for 26 yards on 4 rushing attempts in the same season.
Though the Patriots are bringing back Jalen Reagor, they still need to address the wide receiver group even though they re-signed Kendrick Bourne. The Patriots are also planning to release DeVante Parker, thinning the wide receiver position even more.
New England currently has the third overall pick in this years draft class and will most likely use the pick on a quarterback. So the Patriots will have to find a quarterback to pair with the already empty and lackluster receivers on the team.
The New England Patriots have made many moves today, including bringing back quarterback Jacoby Brissett and signing running back Antonio Gibson.
