The Eagles suck, there’s no doubt about it. Some think that Carson Wentz is the problem, while others think there are other factors to the Eagles sucking. Either way, if given the chance Jalen Hurts is trying to do his part to get the Eagles back on track. His quote provided by
“I’m trying to do what I can do for this team,” Hurts said, via the team’s website. “I think it’s as simple as that. Working hard every day, putting my best foot forward, and taking somebody with me. I’m trying to lead and just get this thing in the right direction. So, anything that can help this team.”
Carson Wentz got benched in the 3rd quarter when the Eagles were down 20-3. There was some life to the Eagles as Jalen Hurts did throw a TD in his 2nd possession to bring the score to 23-10. However, after that, the only time the Eagles scored was off a punt return. That brought the score to 23-16, the closest this game got to. Statistically and using the eye test, Hurts did play slightly better than Carson Wentz. It may have been a little too late for Jalen Hurts to make a huge difference.
However, with that being said, Doug Pederson, Eagles Head Coach, did not say who would start next week for the Eagles against the Saints. No matter who starts, I don’t see the Eagles winning anyway, but Hurts might give them an advantage by changing the pace with Jalen Hurts. Jalen Hurts will do whatever he can for the team, he’ll be ready for his number to be called this season if it is called.
